Restyle existing numbers changes only lines that already start with 1. 2) (3) ① • and similar, keeping their numbers. Every line numbers each non-empty line in order. Each paragraph marks the first line of each paragraph at level 1 and the rest at level 2.
Lines indented by two or more spaces are level 2, so level 1 ① with level 2 - gives '① What to bring / - Photo ID'.
Inline lists like '1) Email 2) In person' are restyled too. Decimals such as 3.5 and years are left alone.
Circled ① goes up to 50, ⑴ and ❶ to 20, Roman and letters to 12–26. Beyond that, plain numbers like 21. are used.
