A leaked ID copy can be used to open accounts or take out loans. Writing the purpose and date across the image makes it hard to present elsewhere and shows where it leaked from. Many banks and carriers ask for copies marked this way.
Run the text diagonally across the face and numbers, not just the margins — margins can be cropped off. Keep opacity around 30–40% so the name and date of birth stay readable.
Numbers that must not be visible at all need masking, not a watermark. Cover them first (crop tool or any paint program), then stamp here. Bundle into a PDF with images → PDF if the recipient needs one.
Drop the ID, statement and proof of address together and they all get the same stamp, delivered as a ZIP. The image is redrawn on a canvas, so EXIF location data is not carried over.

A translucent stamp over the content cannot be cleanly reversed, which is why it goes across the content rather than the margins.
This tool is for images. For a PDF, export pages with PDF → image, stamp them, and rebuild with images → PDF.
